Notes for Mary CONNOR
aka Maria?
Has anyone heard of a place in Ireland which looks something like
Highor, High, Rigo, or Higo?
I have a relative, Maria CONNOR, born at a place named (according to the
Newcastle All Saints, Northumberland 1851 Census) something like that in
about 1827.
Maria married George LAWSON, also born in Ireland and she seems to be
his second wife as in 1851 she was 24 years, living in Newcastle upon
Tyne, Northumberland, England and having a daughter Ann aged 17 years
who was born in Davenport, Ireland (is there such a place?). She was
too young to be Ann's mother.
Maria and George (aged 52) had two younger children, Mary Jane, 4 years,
(also born Rigo, Higo, or whatever) and Henry (my maternal
great-grandfather), 1 year, who was born in Newcastle.
If anyone is connected to the LAWSON or CONNOR families in the early
1800s, I would love to hear from you.
